(Tone 1) Your voice resounds through all the earth, which has received your teaching, by which you proclaimed divine truth. The nature of things you have clearly explained, you ennobled our way of life. O royal priest, venerable Father Basil, intercede with Christ our God to save our souls.

(Tone 8) The grace that shines forth from your mouth like a torch has enlightened the universe; it implanted in the world the treasure of the love of poverty, it showed us the high value of humility; instruct us by your words, John Chrysostom, our father, and intercede with the Word, Christ God, for the salvation of our souls.

(Tone 1) Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

(Tone 1) Your theology like a shepherd*s flute has overcome the trumpet blasts of orators. As you have searched the depths of the Spirit, beauty of speech was also given to you by God. Father Gregory, now pray to Christ our God to save our souls.

(Tone 1) Now and ever, and forever. Amen.

(Tone 1) Through the prayers of all the saints and of the Mother of God, grant us, O Lord, Your peace and have mercy on us, for You alone are gracious.

The bishop now recites this instruction:

My sons, for you the order of Lector is the first step to the diaconate. It is fitting as you read the Holy Scriptures, that you strive for virtue day by day so that those who hear you and observed you, may do the same. Never allow anything to disgrace the order you have received as you await a higher order. Live peacefully in righteousness and holiness and you will have the grace of God and be advanced to a higher ministry, through Christ our Lord. All glory, honor and worship belong to Him, together with His eternal Father and all holy, good and life creating Spirit, now and ever. Amen.
