The reciting note is held for a nominal eight beats in the playback.  The playback here is just once through the score.  For a given text [A-B-C] are repeated until the last phrase of the text is sung as Z.

  [AB] here indicates that the two phrases A and B are always sung as a unit (as opposed to  [A-B]   where either  A or B can be the final phrase before concluding on Z.
