The Rev. Father Theodore Krepp, 51, pastor of St. Mary’s Protection of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church, Kingston, had fallen asleep in the Lord on the Feast of the Elevation of the Holy Cross, Sept. 14, 2006, at the rectory of the church.

He was born July 18, 1955, in Baltimore, Md., a son of Theodore and Genevieve (Shinsky) Krepp Sr. of Baltimore, Md. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus School, Baltimore, Md., and the Archbishop Curley High School, Baltimore, Md. He received a B.A. from St. Hyacinth College and Seminary, Granby, Mass.; and a Master of Divinity from Maryknoll School of Theology, Maryknoll, N.Y. He was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on Nov. 14, 1982, by the Most Rev Bishop Michael J. Dudick. His pastoral assignments were at St. Nicholas Church, Old Forge; St. Mary Church, Coatesville, Pa.; St. Stephen Church, Amherst, N.Y.; St. Mary Church, Olean, N.Y.; St. Mary Church, Mahanoy City, Pa.; and St. Mary Protection Church, Kingston.

In addition to his pastoral assignments, Fr. Ted was involved in the Deacon Formation Program of the Eparchy of Passaic, and served in the capacity of Chant Professor. He was well-known and regarded for his love of liturgy, music and his melodious voice. He also served as cantor for many clergy gatherings and Diocesan events.

Surviving in addition to his parents are brothers David and Carl Krepp, a sister Pamela K. Pilecki, all of Baltimore, Md.; nieces Laura Snyder and Faith Pilecki; devoted friend Friar Dennis Grumsey, OFM Conv., Pastor of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin; and the faithful members of St. Mary’s.

A Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and services for the Burial of a Priest will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Protection Byzantine Catholic Church, 321 Chestnut Ave., Kingston, celebrated by the Most Rev. Bishop Andrew Pataki and the local clergy. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Pringle.

Family, friends and parishioners may call at the church for visitation on Sunday from 4 p.m. until a Parastas service at 7 p.m., and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 until a Parastas service at 7 p.m. Those attending Father Theodore’s funeral on Tuesday should be at the church by 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Eparchy of Passaic, 445 Lackawanna Ave., West Paterson, NJ 07424; or to St. Mary’s Protection of the Mother of God, Kingston. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Russin Funeral Homes, Plains Township and Edwardsville.
